In 2014, I got into many different ventures. I tried various activities such as music, art, and writing, but I discovered that blogging interested me the most. This hobby became my favourite and I focused less on other ventures. I tried painting for a short time, but I got bored quickly. This book gives my experience of what it was like to go through the process of changing my name legally in the United Kingdom. A name change can be carried out by any adult, at any time, and on a shoestring budget. A name change is simple and doesn't need to be drafted or witnessed by a professional as long as you follow the correct process and inform the right people and organisations. I go into some explanation as to why you want to steer clear of companies that will sell you titles and noble ranks. I also give you the basics on how to word a document and my approach on what new name and signature you could take if you can't decide. Many people up and down the land change their name every year; hopefully, this book will make you feel like you're not alone and if I've done it successfully, so can you.

I have also included sections for foreign nations who wish to change their names and those who live in Scotland and Northern Ireland, where local laws differ.

I am not a qualified lawyer, and I do not hold any qualifications in the legal profession or have taken any qualifications in the legal field. This book documented my experience in 2018, and where specific laws are absent in the book, rules based on regulations and advice from governmental and private sector organisations regarding individuals wishing to change their name are present in the publication.

What's This Website About?

It shouldn't come to a surprise that I used to blog when I was 16, and that blog given another 8 years was made into a book (it's The Sandboarding Book if you weren't sure). I set up this website for my business, Pomerak Ventures; a company that I set up to manage my book & music publishing adventures but given that this app is so user friendly, and actively encourages you to blog on a frequent basis; you could argue that this website is more a personal blog.

I'm writing this now thinking that you've got a point, it was intended to be a website of my works and official business but since I'm the only person involved with the daily running of the company, I might as well blog too because if I set up a site strictly for the business and have 2 blogs, the unfortunate consequence will follow that one blog will be neglected. So is it a blog? I'll let you decide.

I wrote this initial piece in December 2024, since then I have migrated this website from Wordpress to Blogger, this was due to the cost of plugins and extras that WordPress offer that would significantly impact the sustainability of the company, and that some readers of the website have made complaints that cyber security is an issue; for example, pop-up ads that are repeatedly shown when viewing website content which of course would mean that I'd have to pay someone or a company to provide me with adequate cyber security. Ultimately, I shouldn't have turned my back on Blogger but this experiment with another blogging service in short reminded me that I shouldn't leave what I know.

Jack Soley's 4th musical venture is by no means something that will be ignored as this venture takes a major influence and hopes to shatter expectations with his previous musical adventures; influenced by French Touch house music particularly by artists Étienne De Crécy, Alan Braxe, and Mr Oizo; and by the likes of House legends Disclosure, Erick Morillo, and Theo Parrish to name the primary influences for POMMYDAX.

POMMYDAX is described as a conference of House, and Deep Electronic sound with hints of UK Garage, EDM, IDM, with a splash of Techno into the mix.
